VIDEO: Magic Kingdom park honors Jungle Cruise ‘Skippers of the Year’

Two cast members have joined the ranks of Jungle Cruise ‘Skippers of the Year’ at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom – and this honor is no joke, as now their photos are part of the show!

Jay Friesner, an Attractions Host at Jungle Cruise, and Richard Reyes, Food & Beverage Coordinator at Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, were both nominated and chosen by their peers for embodying the best traits of a Skipper.

Photos of the pair were captured and aged by Walt Disney Imagineering to fit into the 1930s timeframe of both locations.

Guests can see these photos on the Skipper of the Year plaques located inside the queue for Jungle Cruise and along the wall inside Skipper Canteen. This tradition was started last year as a unique recognition program for cast members in the area.
