Waikiki Spam Jam festival sizzles once again

Spam Jam festival in Waikiki, Hawaii, returns in 2022 after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and fans of the canned cooked pork made by Hormel Foods Corporation are ready to celebrate.

The festival runs from April 22-May 1, 2022, in a bash filled with all things Spam brand, the luncheon meat favored by Hawaiians. The event draws approximately 25,000 visitors annually.

“From people getting inked with Spam tattoos and finding the brand on fine-dining menus, to tens of thousands of fans hitting the beaches and restaurants in Hawaii for the Waikiki Spam Jam festival, the Spam brand has some of the most ardent fans you’ll find anywhere,” states Jennesa Kinscher, Spam’s senior brand manager.

This year, the festival will be an in-restaurant event, with 27 establishments offering their unique take on dishes made with Spam, and created especially for Spam Jam.

The celebration will aid dining outlets that were hard-hit by the pandemic while also allowing festival-goers to enjoy Spam dishes such as candied Spam hula pie, pineapple plantation Spam and eggs, and an original Spam can mai tai cocktail.

Those who are not able to attend the Waikiki Spam Jam festival can find the Spam brand at over 700 restaurants across the U.S.

The Spam Museum in Austin, Minn. welcomes visitors both in person and virtually, and the 16,000-square-foot museum itself has Spam-bassadors on hand to answer questions and offer guided tours. Visitors can even try Spam-ples of the product served on a pretzel stick.

“Dedicated Spam brand fans travel from near and far to take in the rich history and unique experience the Spam Museum offers,” insists Savile Lord, Spam Museum and community relations manager at Hormel Foods.
