Walt Disney World Resort installs first panel at new solar power facility
Walt Disney World revealed today that the first of half a million solar panels was recently installed at the previously-announced 270-acre, 50-megawatt solar facility that will help power the resort.

When it reaches completion in just a few months, this new facility will generate enough renewable clean energy on average to power two of the four Disney parks in Central Florida.
This project is yet another milestone in the resort’s journey toward conservation and environmental protection, something that began with Walt Disney himself.
Cast members from Disney’s Animal, Science and Environment and Horticulture teams are playing a big part in the development of this new facility, including efforts to make the solar panel site pollinator friendly and safe for endangered species of butterflies, bees, and other insects.
