Walt Disney World’s Rosa Mexicano restaurant is muy bueno

Orlando has its fair share of Mexican cuisine, so when a new location stands out, it’s worth mentioning – and Rosa Mexicano at the Swan and Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World is definitely worth mentioning.

“We are excited to open Rosa Mexicano at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and for guests to experience the elevated fiesta that the restaurant offers,” said CEO Jim Dunn. “Staying true to our founding chef Josefina Howard’s vision of introducing Mexican culinary traditions to the world, it’s incredibly gratifying to see Rosa Mexicano open in such an iconic location. Orlando residents and visitors alike will experience our fresh take on authentic Mexican food and will enjoy the fun and festivity of dining at Rosa Mexicano.”

The 5,500-square-foot restaurant seats up to 189 guests, including a 40-person bar and a private dining room for 50.  A centerpiece painting of Mexican artist Frieda Kahlo stands proud at the restaurant’s entrance, and the dining room features large sweeping windows, offering views of the Swan and Dolphin Resort and inviting plenty of Florida sunshine into the space.

Rosa Mexicano Beverage Portfolio

The Walt Disney World Rosa Mexicano location also boasts the brand’s renowned beverage portfolio, with over 100 varieties of tequila and agave-based spirits as well as the signature frozen pomegranate margarita, named the best in New York City.

Author’s Review

This was my first time at a Rosa Mexicano, and I was impressed by the simple and fresh ingredients that resulted in really tasty food. The restaurant isn’t trying to be flashy or Instagram worthy, it’s simply serves great Mexican food, and while Florida is pretty saturated with this type of cuisine, it stood out as one of the better locations I’ve tried. The crispy fiery shrimp and the frozen pomegranate margarita were stand-outs (and are the main reasons I will return again).

Reservations are highly recommend, and you can access this restaurant via a short walk from the Disney Boardwalk, by boat from Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or by pulling right into the Dolphin Resort’s valet.

You can check out the full menu and make reservations on the Rosa Mexicano Swan & Dolphin Resort website.
