The website offers an overview of Lighthouse Point, as well as details on how Disney Cruise Line will “create sustainable economic opportunities for Bahamians, protect and sustain the natural beauty of the site, celebrate culture, and help strengthen the community in Eleuthera,” where the destination is located.

The website gives an overview of Disney’s agreement with The Bahamas for Lighthouse Point, plans to develop only 20 percent of the property and donate more than 190 acres to the government and people of The Bahamas, a look at the design theme for the destination (overseen by Portfolio Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, Joe Rohde), community-based efforts in Eleuthera and more.

Disney Cruise Line has completed its purchase of the Lighthouse Point property, and has signed a Heads of Agreement with the government of The Bahamas. Construction will begin after the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan are accepted by government, public consultation has occurred, and all other needed government permits and approvals have been granted. Hiring for operational roles on the island is expected to begin in 2022.
