Take a dive into a magical underwater world this fall, as Sea Life Orlando welcomes the Weeki Wachee Mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
Every Friday – Sunday starting Sept. 28 – Oct. 21, the mermaids will dive into the aquarium’s tanks to delight guests with their underwater feats. Mermaid performances will start at the top of every hour from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., with meet-and-greets available all day from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
“Creating an immersive and magical underwater escape for our guests where they can interact with thousands of sea creatures is something that we really take pride in at Sea Life,” said James Paulding, general manager. “We are so excited to build onto that experience further by hosting the famous mermaids from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park inside our aquarium for the first time ever.”
The Weeki Wachee Mermaids have been dazzling audiences for over 70 years with their underwater performances. They have called Weeki Wachee Springs State Park their home since their first show on Oct. 13, 1947.
“We are thrilled to partner with Sea Life Orlando Aquarium. The world-famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids are equally excited to perform in this amazing venue,” said John Athanason, marketing and PR manager. “This will be their first performance in Orlando in the park’s 70-year history.”
Not to be upstaged, the heroes of Justice League: A Call for Heroes at Madame Tussauds Orlando have challenged mermaid and superhero fans to a photo face-off!
Guests who post a Halloween photo dressed as either a mermaid or a superhero on Instagram with the hashtag #MermaidsVsHeroes will be entered to win free tickets to both Sea Life Orlando and Madame Tussauds Orlando.
