West Coast Racers now open at Six Flags Magic Mountain

Six Flags Magic Mountain has opened the latest addition to its coaster lineup — West Coast Racers, the world’s first single-track quadruple racing coaster.

This unique racing coaster features two side-by-side tracks with four individual high-speed launches. Riders sit two across as they race head-to-head with other cars on the twin track. The ride experience includes two complete laps, multiple airtime hills, extreme high-banked turns, and over/under near misses.

Six Flags Magic Mountain teamed up with Burbank-based West Coast Customs to create this unique experience. Through their expertise in designing and building car customizations, they created and built the coaster cars for West Coast Racers. A “pit stop” experience is also in the ride, narrated by West Coast Customs founder and CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus. Riders experience this in between the two laps.

West Coast Racers absolutely delivers, living up to Six Flags Magic Mountain’s unprecedented thrill DNA,” said Neal Thurman, park president. “With a broad appeal, this coaster is the centerpiece of the newly themed area, The Underground, featuring new dining and retail opportunities.”

West Coast Racers is located in the new L.A.-themed, urban-inspired area, The Underground, where guests can enjoy a high-energy street vibe as they explore new dining and retail locations. Some of these include Twin Charged Tacos, Chicken Coupe, Snack Trax, Speed Shop, and Six Gear. This area also includes the park’s popular wooden coaster Apocalypse and the soon-to-open refurbished go-karts, Pacific Speedway.
