Year-round horror in Las Vegas has a name – and it’s ‘Universal Horror Unleashed’
Earlier this year, Universal Destinations & Experiences announced a permanent horror venue would be coming to Las Vegas, and this week, horror fans learned the name of the new Universal horror venue will be “Universal Horror Unleashed.”
The phenomenon of Halloween Horror Nights will be spreading out of the theme parks to Las Vegas as Universal Destinations & Experiences is planning the company’s first-ever permanent horror experience in Las Vegas.
“Universal Horror Unleashed is another way we are using our unique style of horror storytelling to engage fans of this genre,” said Page Thompson, president of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences. “We look forward to bringing frightful fun to Las Vegas year-round.”
Universal has promised the new horror experience will deliver the thrills and frights that horror fans enjoy, including immersive horror-centric experiences. In addition, high energy food and beverage spaces during the day will transform into haunting bars and eateries by night. Universal has also stated the entertainment space will be updated continually with must-see seasonal events and distinctive merchandise.
Universal Horror Unleashed at Area15
This new concept within Area15 in Las Vegas pairs the company’s impressive expertise in the horror genre with next-level immersive experiences in an all-new format. In addition, Universal Horror Unleashed plans to deliver the thrills Universal’s horror fans have come to love, while exciting anyone looking for a new level of experiential entertainment.
Universal Horror Unleashed also plays a key role in the company’s ambition to introduce new products to new audiences in new markets, serving as an anchor tenant in the 20-acre expansion of the Area15 immersive entertainment district.
Universal has long defined the horror genre with its classic films featuring iconic characters such as Frankenstein, The Mummy, and the Wolf Man, and today, Universal redefines modern horror and suspense stories through collaborations with high-profile filmmakers like Jason Blum, James Wan, and Jordan Peele.
In its 32nd year, Halloween Horror Nights continues at Universal’s theme parks throughout the world. This year’s event brought many of NBCUniversal’s iconic horror brands to life in terrifying ways, including The Exorcist: Believer, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Chucky, The Purge, Universal Monsters, and more.
