Adventure Island water park to debut new Shaka-Laka Shores
Adventure Island water park, adjacent to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, will re-open March 4th for its 2023 season and debut Shaka-Laka Shores, a new children’s area, later that month.
Welcome to Shaka-Laka Shores
When it opens in March, the family-friendly Shaka-Laka Shores will feature 25 elements designed to encourage play, plus a zero-depth area and private cabanas.
“Shaka-Laka Shores’ vibrant and interactive elements are bound to provide our youngest guests with a playful space to splash and explore,” shared Neal Thurman, park president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island. “Shaka-Laka Shores will bundle the elements of excitement and interactivity to serve as another great option for families experiencing Adventure Island.”
Something for Everyone
Shaka-Laka Shores is part of Adventure Island’s largest expansion in 40 years, following recent additions of the Hang Ten Tiki Bar in 2021, and two new slides – the two-person Rapids Racer raft slide and Wahoo Remix, a family raft slide with synchronized sound – in 2022.
These join the existing roster of well-rounded experiences throughout Adventure Island, including Endless Surf, a 17,000-square-foot wave pool, and Splash Attack, another children’s area featuring a 1,000-gallon bucket of water that downpours onto guests.
Planning Your Visit to Adventure Island
Adventure Island is adjacent to its sister park, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (SeaWorld operates both parks).
Single-day tickets currently start at $44.99, discounted from the standard $82.99.
The park also offers a free Adventure Island Fun Card with the purchase of a Busch Gardens Fun Card, currently priced at $132.99 but usually $187.99. The Fun Card grants admission to both parks for the remainder of 2023.
12-month annual passes to Adventure Island start at $126. Different tiers include free parking, bring-a-friend tickets, and discounted dining and merchandise. Guests can also select a passholder option that grants admission to Adventure Island, Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Aquatica.
