The park’s seventh coaster, Flying Viking, is designed to soar over, under, and around the new Draken Falls water ride, making them the second intertwining flume-coaster combination in the U.S.

Flying Viking will boast 1,312 feet of twisting, turning track that rises to a height of 50 feet and will have a height requirement of 36 inches when accompanied by an adult (42 inches unaccompanied), making it an aspirational coaster for youngsters.

Six-person Viking ship ride vehicles on Draken Falls – the first super flume in the Midwest – take guests down towering plunges of up to 40 feet and into several splashdowns along its 1,214 feet of track, and will have a height requirement of 42 inches accompanied, 48 inched unaccompanied.

Both were designed by Italian ride manufacturer Zamperla.

“Draken Falls and Flying Viking will offer unique thrills as they immerse visitors in a wonderfully themed Viking universe,” said Adam Sandy, Zamperla Roller Coaster sales & marketing director. “With beautiful, custom-designed vehicles that interact with each other and their environment, plus satisfying splashdowns and speed bursts, these rides will make great additions to Adventureland’s growing lineup of attractions.”

Palace Entertainment purchased Adventureland in winter 2021, and the two new rides represent the 10th and 11th family-friendly attractions that have been added since the acquisition.

“These two unique rides are even better when they are woven together, and both add something new and special to our lineup,” said Adventureland General Manager Bill Lentz. “Our guests voiced a desire for a new flume ride, and this next-generation version is bigger and better than anything to be found within hundreds of miles. Pairing it with a thrilling family roller coaster that people of all ages can enjoy is going to be a big hit.”
