Since opening in 2001, Universal Studios Japan has continued to evolve by bringing visitors “unbelievable excitement and awe” – and since 2020, has embraced its “No Limit!” slogan in each new experience – a theme that earned the park top honors in “Brand Japan 2023,” the country’s most extensive brand survey.

Universal Studios Japan - No Limit

The Osaka park is a clone of Universal Studios Florida, and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man 4K3D – The Ride is housed in the building where Orlando’s Revenge of the Mummy ride is located. The popular ride has thrilled 100 million visitors since its opening on Jan. 23, 2001, but despite being the first attraction chosen as the World’s No. 1 Ride by Amusement Today for seven consecutive years, it will close its doors to make way for further evolution of the park experience.

A statement from Universal Studios Japan notes the park “believes it is our mission to grow ‘infinitely’ under the company slogan of, ‘Energizing people and society with super entertaining creativity.’”

Spider-Man The Ride Final Campaign

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man – The Ride immersed visitors in an adventure through New York City with Spider-Man by employing super high definition 4K3D visuals and ride motion technology with over 100 synchronized special effects

The press release from Universal Studios Japan says ‘”these attractions have been a wonderful part of the park, thrilling and entertaining guests for many years,” but their closures are the result of the park “striving to infinitely evolve and grow by creating ‘No Limit!’ entertainment that amazes visitors.”
