Antarctica opening May 25 at SeaWorld Orlando, Penguin Trek TBA

SeaWorld Orlando will reopen Antarctica on May 25, 2024 but the park area will still be missing its star: The new Penguin Trek coaster.

A blurb on SeaWorld’s 60th anniversary webpage reads:

Get ready for the unveiling of the mesmerizing all-new Antarctica Realm, opening May 25. This immersive experience transports you to the polar ice to explore fresh food at the revamped Expedition Cafe, themed drink options at the all-new South Pole Sips and new souvenir shopping at the all-new Glacial Supply, and our incredible penguin habitat.

Plus, Penguin Trek, SeaWorld Orlando’s first family coaster, will open soon to round out the full experience.

The bold emphasis in the text is theirs, not ours. SeaWorld Orlando has not announced a specific opening date for the new Penguin Trek roller coaster. The park previously said the attraction would open “spring 2024.” The ride’s landing page on SeaWorld’s website now simply says “2024.”

Also this weekend, SeaWorld Orlando will welcome its new 60th anniversary parade and “Xceleration,” a BMX cirque show. Both entertainment offerings will open May 24, one day before Antarctica officially debuts.
