Water Country USA opens in Williamsburg, Va. on May 14 for the 2022 season, and Members will be the first to ride the new Aquazoid Amped water ride on opening day, ahead of its May 27 official debut.
The park’s iconic water ride received an all-new twist, transforming it into a full-sensory immersive slide with special effects show, music, and dynamic lighting effects.
The attraction lets riders plunge 864 feet down the enclosed tube at speeds up to 20 feet per second.
“The opening of Aquazoid Amped is the perfect way to continue growing our park’s attraction portfolio by introducing new and exhilarating elements to a fan-favorite ride,” said Kevin Lembke, park president Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA.
The brand-new Lil’ Surfers Splash Pad kids’ water play area at Water Country USA also opens to the general public in June 2022, as does the new Surfer’s Bay Bar with its tropical libations.
Located across from Surfer’s Bay Wave Pool, the splash pad keeps the park’s youngest guests in mind, with features such as splash fountains, spray cannons, and a kid-sized water slide. The area joins child-friendly areas H20 UFO and Cow-A-Bunga.
Guests can find relief from the heat at Surfer’s Bay Bar, which overlooks the largest wave pool in Virginia. This full-service bar features craft beers on tap, frozen drinks, and a tropical oasis ambiance.
Purchase a Water Country USA Membership and receive early access to Aquazoid Amped. Memberships are offered at a 20 percent discount, for a limited time, and provide 12 months of visits, free parking, up to six free guests tickets, discounts on merchandise, and other park perks. Offer ends May 1, 2022.
