Area15 Orlando canceled, land for sale near Disney World

Area15 Orlando — the second location of an attraction complex which first opened in Las Vegas — has been canceled, but the company may reconsider the 407 in the future.

The Area15 indoor attraction facility will no longer proceed with its Orlando, Fla. location. The 300,000-square-foot Area15 Orlando would have been home to third-party tenants of the themed entertainment, dining, and shopping varieties.

The news was first reported in the Orlando Business Journal, which also stated Area15 CEO Winston Fisher “may consider Orlando plans again in the future.” For now, though, the property on which Area15 would have been built is for sale.

The 17-acre plot once designated for Area15 is located at the intersection of I4 and Darryl Carter Parkway, near Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets and the apartment complexes that formerly housed Disney College Program cast members (prior to the switch to Flamingo Crossings).

Area15 Orlando was announced in March 2022, initially slated for a 2024 opening. The property’s construction never went vertical and remains a barren field, as seen in photos by Expedition Theme Park.

The original Area15 location in Las Vegas, Nev. opened in 2020 and is home to attractions like Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart and Lite-Brite: Worlds of Wonder. A year-round Halloween Horror Nights experience called Universal Horror Unleashed is currently under construction for Area15 Las Vegas.
