Disney has unveiled new details about what Marvel fans can expect from a “cinematic dining adventure” aboard the Disney Wish with “Avengers: Quantum Encounter.”
This exclusive Avengers dinner experience will assemble some of Earth’s Mightiest (and tiniest) heroes “in a larger-than-life showcase of revolutionary quantum technology and world-class cuisine.”
‘Avengers: Quantum Encounter’ is Disney Cruise Line’s most ambitious dining experience ever. We’re doing something that’s never been done before in a restaurant, developing an exclusive Avengers adventure that will immerse our guests in the action through sophisticated technology and innovative storytelling. It’s the perfect complement to the incredible menu of story-driven dining aboard the Disney Wish.Danny Handke, senior creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering
“Avengers: Quantum Encounter” will follow Ant-Man and The Wasp as they set out on their first public speaking engagement on behalf of the Avengers. They’ll host a special presentation of some of the most powerful Super Hero technologies — like Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s arc reactor and, of course, Pym Particles — and give guests an up-close look at holographic models, field reports and iconic scenes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe displayed on screens that surround the room.
The highlight of the experience is a hands-on demonstration of the newest piece of Pym Tech, the Quantum Core, which uses cutting-edge (yet highly unstable) technology to shrink and grow targets at the push of a button. A few funny “misfires” will no doubt result in Scott Lang-approved hijinks, but the dinner will take a turn when an unexpected villain shows up to try and get their hands on this powerful technology.
Ant-Man and The Wasp will need all the help they can get, and will call on Captain America, Captain Marvel and the diners aboard the Disney Wish for back-up.
Each table at Worlds of Marvel will feature its own Quantum Core, “a brand-new device that can cause objects to shrink and grow remotely.” During the dinner, guests will assist the heroes as they try some smaller-scale experiments. When enough of the Quantum Cores are activated at the same time, the entire venue will become supercharged as energy pulses through the power channels in the walls and ceiling.
As for the food, Worlds of Marvel will offer dishes inspired by iconic Marvel locations like Wakanda, Sokovia, and New York City. Menus are still in development, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.
The Disney Wish will set sail on its maiden voyage in summer 2022, and Ant-Man and The Wasp will return to the big screen in “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” in 2023. To learn more about the Disney Wish, visit DisneyCruise.com.
