Nora Lum, aka Awkwafina, is now among the collection of celebrity wax figures at Madame Tussauds in New York City, and will join the Orlando location mid-November.

Awkwafina Officially “Immortalized In Wax”

Awkwafina’s wax figure sports a blue gown in New York and a red suit in Orlando. If guests look closely, they’ll even spot her “NY” wrist tattoo.

The muse herself, a native of Queens, N.Y., recently got to meet both figures at Queens Museum, though the likenesses will not remain there.

“The ability for this to happen to me is just really cool,” said Awkwafina, “to be, as you guys say, immortalized in wax. One [figure] is going to be living in the New York City location … so to know that I’m going to be in my hometown is a huge honor.”

“Right at Home”

20 artists in London created the figures over the course of nine months.

“Awkwafina is a cultural icon and global presence, so it’s only fitting that fans in Orlando and New York have the opportunity to meet both of her new wax figures up close and personally,” said Matthew Clarkson, head of marketing operations for Madame Tussauds. “As a New York native, we know her wax figure will fit in seamlessly and be right at home.”

As an actor, writer, musician, and producer, Awkwafina is a multi hyphenate talent. You may know her from “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Nora from Queens,” or her Golden Globe-winning performance in “The Farewell.”

Awkwafina’s Disney résumé includes portraying Scuttle in the re-imagining of “The Little Mermaid,” Sisu in “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and Katy in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Her new movie, “Quiz Lady,” co-starring Sandra Oh, is now streaming on Hulu from 20th Century Studios.
