Batman Day is celebrated annually on the third Saturday in September, which falls on Sept. 19 in 2026. DC introduced the celebration in 2014 for Batman’s 75th anniversary, and it later became an annual September event. And now Cinemark is releasing a Batmobile popcorn bucket, and a short list of “Batman” movies will return to theaters!

The popcorn bucket is based on the TV series from the 60s

The price and release date should be revealed soon, but the pictures are already getting fans excited. The 1966 mini Batmobile will have an LED light that projects the Bat-Signal.

The bucket will come with an XL popcorn and a free refill on that same day. When not being used to enjoy popcorn, the seats of the Batmobile take the place of the popcorn. Therefore, it’s a great snack container, and the perfect Batman decor. The popcorn bucket, based on the 1966 Batmobile is a nod to the TV series, Batman, that ran from 1966-1968, and starred Adam West and Burt Ward.

The Origins of Batman Day go back to 2014

Batman day is the third Saturday in Sept. This year that falls on Sept. 19. The caped crusader first appeared in 1939’s Detective Comics #27. However, per the Batman Wiki page, it wasn’t until 2014 that ‘Batman Day’ became a thing. It was an event at San Diego Comic Con to celebrate the 75th anniversary of his first comic book appearance. It then became an annual event celebrated by DC, Warner Brothers, comic book shops, and fans.

As ‘The Batman’ Part II movie is in the works, and the current comic from Scott Snyder, ‘Absolute Batman,’ continues to break records, it’s clear this fictional billionaire/vigilante isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
