Blackpool Pleasure Beach is recruiting Junior Board of Directors

The UK amusement park Blackpool Pleasure Beach is recruiting a dream role for young theme park enthusiasts: Blackpool Junior Board of Directors member.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been family owned and operated since opening in 1896. This entertainment venue offers ten amazing roller coasters, including the UK’s only double-launch coaster – ICON. In addition, younger guests can enjoy 12 other fantastic rides, plus meet their favorite Nickelodeon characters at the UK’s only Nickelodeon Land. This theme park also offers live entertainment, with shows and events occurring throughout the year, including the stunning “Hot Ice” show, which takes place each summer.

The Blackpool Junior Board of Directors was established in 1995, and has had over 60 members, some who have gone on to accept full and part-time positions at the park. While packed full of fun, the Junior Board is also very important by providing a much-valued “young” perspective, which is essential when developing theme park strategies with families in mind.

In 2023, Blackpool Pleasure Beach will continue the tradition of having a junior team of decision-makers. New members will join the existing team to assist with the development of new merchandise, marketing of the park, and customer engagement strategies.

All Blackpool Junior Board of Directors members must be between 11 and 15 years old. They should have a passion for fun and adventure with a good head for business. Selected candidates receive appointments for an initial year, but could remain on the Board until graduation at the age of 16.

The opportunity provides board members with a taste of professional life and helps them develop skills that will be essential in the future. As with Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Board of Directors, the Junior Board members should demonstrate good time management, deliver tasks to a high standard, and work well together as a team.

After completing an application, shortlisted candidates will receive invitations to attend an action-packed open day at the park where they’ll face a series of challenges, followed by an interview with Blackpool Pleasure Beach Junior Board leaders.
