Summer Nights is returning to Busch Gardens Tampa starting this weekend with more extra entertainment than ever after the sun goes down. This year’s event includes a new Latin-infused show at the Marrakesh Theater and, for the first time, a fireworks finale each night through Aug. 12.
The award-winning Kinetix show is returning for its third year in a row to Summer Nights with nightly performances of its rock-fueled blast of music and acrobatics including live musicians, singers, dancers and artists from around the world. It will take place every night in Gwazi Park at 9 p.m.
New to this year’s event is a fireworks finale set to popular pop music right after Kinetix. Also new is “Let’s Get Loud” which is a contemporary Latin music and dance show featuring singers, dancers and musicians performing songs from well-known artists like Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin. The Miami dance party will perform nightly at the Marrakesh Theater.
Other entertainment includes DJs and riding the park’s many roller coasters in the dark.
Here’s a look at the Kinetix show from 2010:
Across the street, Adventure Island water park heats up this summer during Island Nights. DJs rev up the energy with music, dancing, games on the beach, street performers, larger-than-life stiltwalkers and a steel drum band.
Magicians, jugglers and skilled fire performers will be on hand to entertain guests as well. Guests can also sample the tastes of the islands with unique offerings added to the daily menu, including island shrimp, empanadas, black beans and rice, sangria and frozen drinks. The event will take place June 14 to Aug. 11, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night 5 to 9 p.m.
