Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm have decided to postpone their milestone century celebrations that were scheduled to take place this year.

Both Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm, which are owned by Cedar Fair, shared an update on May 8, 2020 explaining new safety measures and operational changes for the parks, as well as the announcement that their upcoming anniversary events would be postponed.

There is still no reopening date for either theme park, but here’s what they did share:

Cedar Point

  • Even though the park is still closed, guests can continue to visit TicketOfALifetime.com each week to register and enter for a chance to win free admission for life.
  • Cedar Point’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, along with its attractions and offerings like the Snake River Expedition ride, Town Hall Museum, and Celebrate 150 Spectacular immersive nighttime parade and show, will be postponed to 2021. The event was originally scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 9.
  • Special events like Performances in the Park, Spring Youth & Education Programs, CoasterMania!, Frontier Festival, Coaster Campout, Run & Ride, and Season Passholder Appreciation Weekend will be postponed to 2021.
  • Experiences like VIP, Sunrise, Segway, and Boardwalk Cruiser Tours will also be postponed to 2021.

Cedar Point extended all 2020 Season Passes and Season Pass Add-On Products through the 2021 season as a result of their extended closure, and has also paused billing on passes while the park is closed.

Knott’s Berry Farm

  • While the park is closed, guests can enjoy select offerings from the California Marketplace, including items from Knott’s Chicken-to-Go Restaurant, Farm Bakery and the Knott’s Berry Market (which has an online store!).
  • Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, a new 4D interactive dark ride that reimagines a classic attraction, is on track to open when the park reopens to guests.
  • Knott’s Berry Farm, Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel, select locations in the California Marketplace, and Knott’s Soak City remain temporarily closed until further notice.
  • The Knott’s 100th Anniversary: A Knott’s Family Reunion event will be postponed to 2021.
  • Based on the nature of the experience and new potential safety guidelines that the park will adhere to, Ghost Town Alive! will not take place in 2020. The experience will return in 2021, however, with an all-new summer adventure.

Like Cedar Point, Knott’s Berry Farm also extended all 2020 Season Passes and Season Pass Add-On Products through 2021. Billing has also been paused.

Stay tuned for more updates as we await the reopening of Cedar Point and Knott’s Berry Farm.
