AromaPrime, a U.K.-based company, has joined forces with three dungeon attractions to launch a new scent collection for fans unable to visit during self-isolation.
The attractions that are included in the collaboration are The Edinburgh Dungeon, The York Dungeon, and The Blackpool Tower Dungeon. The dungeons are known for taking guests on walking tours through history with elaborate sets, sounds, and larger-than-life characters to encounter. Putrid smells also play a role in bringing the experience to life, and these crafted by AromaPrime help create an authentic, historical atmosphere.
With the UK’s attractions now closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, fans have been ordering AromaPrime’s smells to experience some of those happy memories while staying at home. Because of this, these dungeon smells are now available for the first time ever, with each one based on scenes like “The Witch Trial,” “The Anatomy Theatre,” and “Castle Ghosts.” The smell for “The Courtroom,” from one of the Dungeons’ funniest scenes, includes the rich smell of the judge’s whisky.
“With everyone stuck at home, there has been a huge trend in people buying fun smells from their favorite attractions. Smells (pleasant or not) that we associate with happy times have the immense power to trigger positive emotions and nostalgia in our brains, which is beneficial during this challenging period,” said Liam R. Findlay, attractions consultant at AromaPrime. “AromaPrime has received multiple requests from die-hard Dungeon fans about these memorable smells—we are thrilled to finally make them available, allowing fans to own a real piece of the Dungeon experience that they can keep forever.”
“We are really pleased to be working in partnership with AromaPrime, whose atmospheric scents we have used for many years,” said Kathryn Angel, general manager at The Edinburgh Dungeon. “It’s great we are now able to transform the Dungeon experience and bring it into people’s homes for fun, escapism, or even to aid learning.”
You can purchase this new scent range now in AromaPrime’s online Theme Park Fan Collection, which also includes authentic smells from Thorpe Park.
