As reported by Blooloop, the theme park in the Netherlands will reopen on May 20, 2020, with a new online reservation system that guests will use to secure a timeslot to visit. More details on this new system will be released at a later time.

“The cabinet’s instruction ‘stay at home’ has now been changed to ‘avoid crowds,'” said the park in a statement. “As a day attraction, we have all the facilities, knowledge and expertise in house to receive guests safely.”

Efteling will start its re-opening process by allowing just one-third of its maximum capacity into the park at a time, and will welcome more guests with each phase.

The Efteling Bosrijk Hotel re-opened on May 8, and Efteling Loonsche Land and the Efteling Hotel will open on May 20. Efteling Golf Park will likely open before the May 20 re-opening date.

The theme park will implement the following measures to keep guests safe when it re-opens:

  • Social distancing of 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) between guests
  • Offering clear information through the park’s website and on screens and signs in the park, at the hotel, and holiday villages.
  • Provide additional hygiene measures, including installing central disinfection points and clean contact points more frequently, like door handles. Personal protective equipment will also be provided if necessary.
