‘Celebrate Black Stories’ leads to a caffeine-fueled Disney+ partnership
“Celebrate Black Stories” collection of shows and movies on Disney+ honors Black History Month by highlighting the talent of black artists and creatives, making it a perfect tie-up with Sip & Sonder, L.A.’s first Black-women owned coffee house.

Sip & Sonder, located at 108 Market Street in Inglewood, California, brings the Disney+ “Celebrate Black Stories” collection to life through a real-world recreation of the living room set seen in the ground-breaking “The Proud Family” series revival, “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.”
The shop will also feature iconic visuals and giveaways for their customers to enjoy while sipping a cuppa. Among the themed elements are window décor based on the pattern associated with Disney+’s “Celebrate Black Stories” collection, limited-edition takeaway cups, snacks, and buttons featuring characters from the collection’s popular shows.

“The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which follows 16-year-old Penny Proud and her family, has a Disney+ debut date of February 23, 2022.
The original “The Proud Family” series, which ran on the Disney Channel from 2001-2005, followed Penny as she navigated her early teen years. The revival series continues her story.

The Disney+ and Sip & Sonder collaboration launched on February 16, and will run through February 28. The venue, owned by entrepreneurs Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas, was established in 2017 as Inglewood’s first specialty coffee house and roastery, and is a gathering place designed as a comfortable surrounding for creative thinking with a side of coffee.
