Celebrate Butterbeer Season in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
From March 15 through April 30, 2024, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will celebrate Butterbeer Season, offering the favorite wizarding treat in all-new ways.
With flavors of butterscotch and shortbread, Butterbeer is offered as cold, frozen, hot, and non-dairy beverages, as well as Butterbeer fudge, potted cream, and ice cream.
What is Butterbeer Season?
According to Universal, Butterbeer Season is “a new global franchise initiative to annually celebrate the flavor, scent, and look of the iconic beverage fans will recognize from the magical wizarding world. Now, every March through early May, fans around the world will have the opportunity to experience Butterbeer in new and unexpected ways during Butterbeer Season. Look out for new treats, limited-edition products, events, and activations to celebrate the joy of Butterbeer.”
Butterbeer was first introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and quickly became a “bucket list” item for Harry Potter fans who wanted to taste it for themselves. Thankfully, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Destinations & Experiences global theme parks, Warner Bros. Studio Tours in Hollywood, Tokyo, and London, and Harry Potter touring experiences around the world provide that magical opportunity.
New Butterbeer Treats
During the first-ever Butterbeer Season, both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood introduce new Butterbeer treats, including an ice lolly featuring Butterbeer flavor in popsicle form. For a limited time (only during Butterbeer season), cold and frozen Butterbeer will be available in a collectible silver stein.
In addition, new Butterbeer caramels will be available at Universal Orlando Resort only.
Florean Fortescue Expands to California
The celebration marks the introduction of Florean Fortescue’s ice cream counter inside the Honeydukes candy shop in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The all-new venue, opening March 29, 2024, will feature ten soft-serve ice cream flavors served in a cup or waffle cone, including Butterbeer, Banana, Chocolate, Mint, Orange, Vanilla, Toffee Nut, Granny Smith Apple, Pistachio, and Toffee Apple.
Florean Fortescue currently operates a full ice cream parlor in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.
Guests can celebrate Butterbeer season from March 15 through April 30, 2024, at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventures and Universal Studios Hollywood and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.
