Before you watch Celestial Goodnight fireworks at Epic Universe, read these 5 tips
Epic Universe now has an official nighttime spectacular. Celestial Goodnight transforms the lagoon in Celestial Park with choreographed fountains, lighting effects, a cinematic score, and fireworks during a 10-minute finale that closes out the park each evening.

Guests planning to stay until park close should know a few tips before finding a viewing spot. We attended a hosted media viewing during the Celestial Goodnight’s debut on July 7, 2026.
What is Celestial Goodnight?
Celestial Goodnight takes place on the lagoon at the heart of Celestial Park, with the towering Helios Grand Hotel serving as the backdrop. The show combines synchronized fountains, colorful lighting, and an original orchestral soundtrack before building to a fireworks finale.
Best of all, the fireworks aren’t reserved for the final moments. Bursts appear throughout the performance.

Universal has announced that Celestial Goodnight is presented nightly at park close. Because Epic Universe’s closing time changes throughout the year, the show’s start time also varies. Guests should check the Universal Orlando app on the day of their visit for the most up-to-date performance time.
For the summer, the average closing time and therefore showtime is 9 p.m. In the fall, things may shift to an earlier close.

5 tips for watching Epic Universe’s fireworks
1. Fireworks happen throughout the show
Don’t expect to save your camera for the finale. Fireworks appear multiple times during the 10-minute spectacular. Try to enjoy the show with your own eyes rather than having your phone or camera out the entire time.
A key component of the show is the lighting. While fireworks may be the headliner for many guests, take the time to appreciate the incredible lighting effects that encompass all of Celestial Park.

2. Finding a spot to watch Celestial Goodnight
One of the biggest advantages of Celestial Goodnight is the number of viewing locations. Guests can find seating around roughly three-quarters of the lagoon, with additional standing room available behind the benches and along nearby pathways. The show is designed for audiences to face Helios Grand Hotel, and it serves as a dramatic backdrop.
The hotel being centered in your view helps a lot, but is not crucial. A clear view of both the fountains and the fireworks can be obtained from any of the seats and will still be enjoyable. Much like viewing Magic Kingdom’s fireworks with Cinderella Castle centered in your view, it is ideal to face Helios Grand Hotel if possible.

Pro-tip: If all the spots that face Helios Grand Hotel are taken, you may want to consider moving toward the front of Celestial Park near the Atlantic restaurant. There are smaller lagoons with smaller fountains and lights that are all still synchronized to the show. You’ll have fewer crowds and a wide view of the spectacle, plus easier access to the exit.

3. Arrive early if you want a seat
Seating wraps around roughly three-quarters of the Celestial Park lagoon and began filling up well before showtime on opening night. Arriving 20 to 30 minutes early should give you the best chance of finding a bench with a clear view.
4. The show is only about 10 minutes
Celestial Goodnight is a relatively short nighttime spectacular. Stay through the final moments, when the fountains, lighting, and largest fireworks effects come together for the show’s finale.
5. Grab dinner or dessert before the show
Universal has also added some convenient grab-and-go options for guests waiting on the nighttime spectacular. Pizza Moon now offers a “Pizza Moon Pick-Up” kiosk that opens before showtime (via mobile order), while Meteor Astropub has introduced specialty themed shakes to go. There are quite a few affordable eats in Epic Universe, so make a full night of it!
Once Celestial Goodnight is underway, the park is closed and so are the majority of dining options within the park.

Final thoughts
At just 10 minutes long, Celestial Goodnight provides a memorable ending to a day at Epic Universe, bringing together many of Celestial Park’s signature elements into one nighttime spectacular.
