Universal Epic Universe dazzles with a new nighttime spectacular, ‘Universal Celestial Goodnight’
Universal Orlando Resort has announced that Epic Universe’s first nighttime spectacular, ‘Universal Celestial Goodnight,’ will debut July 7, 2026 transforming Celestial Park with choreographed fountains, millions of LED lights, and a fireworks finale inspired by the adventures found throughout the park.

One of the biggest questions surrounding Epic Universe since its opening has been whether the park would eventually receive its own signature nighttime spectacular. After weeks of after-hours testing hinted that something was on the horizon, Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed the answer is yes.
Beginning July 7, “Universal Celestial Goodnight” will light up Celestial Park nightly with synchronized fountains, dynamic lighting, an original musical score, and fireworks designed to provide an epic finale to a day of thrills. The new production celebrates the adventures found across Epic Universe’s immersive worlds, bringing the park together in one final shared experience before guests head home.

Guests staying at the Universal Helios Grand Hotel had recently heard testing of audio relating to this new fireworks spectacular.
What will Celestial Goodnight be like?
According to Universal Orlando Resort, the new experience was developed by Universal’s award-winning entertainment team and serves as a celebration of the adventures found throughout Epic Universe’s themed worlds.
Universal said the production will “envelop all of Celestial Park” through nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, more than 350 larger-than-life fountains, and seven million LED lights embedded throughout the land. Guests will watch as “every inch” of the vibrant world, from Luna to Apollo, comes alive through meticulous choreography set to a high-energy musical score before culminating in a breathtaking fireworks finale overhead.
Universal Celestial Goodnight will pay tribute to the adventures that define Epic Universe, from the playful energy of Super Nintendo World and the soaring spirit of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk to the spellbinding wonder of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic and the legendary monsters lurking within Dark Universe.
Bringing together the worlds that guests have journeyed through throughout the day, the spectacular promises to send them home with one final reminder that the universe is full of extraordinary stories waiting just beyond the next portal.
Universal said the production features:
- Nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures
- More than 350 larger-than-life fountains
- Approximately 7 million LED lights are embedded throughout Celestial Park
- A high-energy musical score
- A fireworks finale designed to cap off guests’ day in Epic Universe
The show will use Celestial Park’s existing infrastructure, with Universal promising that “every inch” of the land will come alive through meticulously choreographed effects.

There is no confirmed showtime, however, Epic Universe’s hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. on July 7, 2026. It is likely that Universal Celestial Goodnight will perform at 9 p.m.
What about the open hub?
With Epic Universe utilizing an “open hub” concept every so often, could Celestial Goodnight be the first theme park nighttime spectacular you could view without admission to the park?
The concept has been tested during private events, allowing attendees of conferences or gatherings to explore Celestial Park. The portals to the individual lands are accessed using photo recognition readers, allowing only those with park admission to enter lands like Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
There is no confirmation from Universal as to whether any performances of Universal Celestial Goodnight will be accessible during an open hub procedure.

In a recent interview with Attractions Magazine, Epic Universe President Jeff Polk said the park’s second year would focus less on testing and more on refining experiences based on guest feedback and behavior.
Polk as pointed to the seven million LED lights embedded throughout Celestial Park as one of the park’s marvels — and with ‘Universal Celestial Goodnight,’ those lights are poised to shine brighter than ever.
A fitting finale for Epic Universe
The announcement follows weeks of visible testing after park hours, which sparked speculation that Epic Universe was preparing to launch a permanent nighttime offering. Attractions Magazine previously reported on the overnight rehearsals as fountains, lighting effects, and fireworks were spotted from outside the park.
With the addition of Universal Celestial Goodnight, Epic Universe joins the ranks of major theme parks that offer guests a signature nighttime spectacular as the final experience of the day.
