Comparing Minecraft Universal Studios Experience with real-life locations at Universal Studios Hollywood
The wildly popular downloadable content (DLP) game, Minecraft, has now taken its blocky world to Universal Destinations & Experiences around the world. The game recreates real locations and attractions from Universal Studios theme parks. The game highlights both current and retired attractions.
Minecraft has up to 140 million monthly active players across 20 platforms, making it one of the best-selling video games in history. It is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. Many adventures await in the real-world Universal Studios parks, and now the same can be said for the Minecraft world.
Players will begin at the iconic Universal gate and globe. There, Woody Woodpecker will ask for their help restoring the letters on the famous globe. After walking through the gates, players will encounter rides, souvenir shops, minigames, and characters.
Many of the locations in the game are located at Universal Studios Hollywood. Attractions Magazine was recently invited to the park to compare the real world park with the game park. Look at these two different, but similar, versions of some of Universal Studios Hollywood’s iconic offerings side by side.
Beyond Hollywood, players can experience attractions from Universal Orlando including Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Revenge of the Mummy, E.T. Adventure, and more. Overseas park’s representation includes Universal Beijing Resort’s Jurassic World Innovation Center and JAWS from Universal Studios Japan.
If it’s nostalgia you’re looking for, you can now travel back in time with Back to the Future – The Ride, a worldwide fan favorite of yesteryear. Speaking of fan favorites, characters you can expect to see in the game include Frankenstein’s Monster, Puss in Boots, Shrek, E.T. and more.
