Dave’s Hot Chicken’s ‘X-Men ’97’ meal proves collectible toys aren’t just for kids
Collectible toys have become a staple of kids’ meals for decades, but Dave’s Hot Chicken is taking that concept to Marvel fans with a new limited-time “X-Men ’97” promotion.
Available beginning July 1 at participating locations, the Dave’s Hot Chicken x “X-Men ’97′” Meal includes a Dave’s #4 Meal — guests can choose either a Slider & Fries or Bites & Fries — along with one blind-bag collectible figure. The promotion launches alongside the Season 2 premiere of “X-Men ’97” on Disney+. The meal is priced at $13.99 while supplies last.
Guests have the chance to collect one of four characters:
- Wolverine
- Cyclops
- Storm
- Jean Grey

The promotion also includes limited-edition digital pins and exclusive comic content available through the Dave’s Hot Chicken app. The collaboration is available for a limited time at participating locations while supplies last.
Dave’s Hot Chicken isn’t the only restaurant aiming collectible toys at adults. Right now, Wendy’s has introduced limited-time meals tied to Illumination’s “Minions” franchise, with collectible toys inspired by the “Minions & Monsters” movie. Fun at meal time is for everyone!
