DC Universe themed area is coming to Six Flags Great America
DC Universe comic book inspired shops, restaurants, and attractions will have their own themed area at Six Flags Great America in Chicago, Ill. starting April 15, 2022.
Six Flags Great America, in partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and DC, revealed the thrilling news today, March 24, 2022, that super heroes and super villains will be taking over the former Yankee Harbor section of the park with their own DC Universe land.
DC Universe features three reimagined attractions:
The Flash: Vertical Velocity high-speed launch coaster.
Aquaman Splashdown winding flume ride that ends with a watery plunge.
DC Super-Villains Swing spinning attraction that twirls guests in a 360-degree orbit.
The new area will also be home to park favorites, Batman The Ride and The Joker free-fly coaster.
“Six Flags Great America prides itself on bringing guests new, innovative, and thrilling experiences each season,” said Park President John Krajnak. “DC Universe is the largest and most exciting park enhancement in recent memory. This newly branded area brings together some of DC’s most iconic super heroes and super-villains for an exhilarating and immersive experience.”
New shopping and dining options will also open, including the all-new Steelworks Pub, Gotham City Snacks, Central City Snacks, and Captain Cold Ice Cream. Each will be available for in-park mobile ordering using the Six Flags app.
Steelworks Pub will feature a beer garden and patio to enjoy treats such as Dole Whips, Oreo funnel cake sundaes, and Buffalo chicken mac ‘n cheese.
Photo opportunity installations will be located throughout DC Universe so that guests can capture special memories with their favorite DC characters.
In keeping with the theme, the DC Super Hero run will take place at Six Flags Great America on June 26, 2022.
As the 2022 season kicks off, Six Flags will have a new three-tiered Pass Program so that guests can maximize their park experiences.
