Go backstage with Disney cast members in new video series
“How Happy Happens,” a new YouTube series, shares backstage videos spotlighting Disney theme park cast members who create happiness for guests.

“How Happy Happens” Backstage at Disney Theme Parks
“How Happy Happens” is hosted by Raevon Redding, senior specialist of communications at Disney Experiences and former Walt Disney World ambassador.
“Throughout this series, you will meet some incredible cast members from across all of Disney Experiences with some pretty awesome jobs,” Redding said in the inaugural episode, “but even better stories as to why they call this magical place home.”

Based on this description, episodes may cover all manner of Disney theme parks, cruise ships, and resort destinations around the world. The first episode in the series debuted April 22, 2024 on the official Disney Parks YouTube channel, and is almost 13 minutes long.

“How Happy Happens” is part of a campaign from Disney’s employee culture and connections content creation team. Disney has not mentioned how often the series will debut new episodes or how many episodes will be produced, but the initial shoot is currently taking place over a period of eight months.
Behind the Scenes with Indiana Jones
The first episode of “How Happy Happens” goes backstage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a peek into “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!” with Todd Tedsen, the show’s props crew chief.

Tedsen guides Redding and the viewer through a hands-on look at activating the production’s special effects, maintaining its props, and resetting the amphitheater between shows.

Along the way, the camera gets a peek at the long-running stage production from unique points of view.
Disney Cast Member Profiles
The launch of “How Happy Happens” comes just weeks after the debut of “We Call It Imagineering,” a new series on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel. Whereas “How Happy Happens” focuses on cast members, “We Call It Imagineering” sheds light on the creative process of the ongoing “turbocharge” of Disney theme parks. The first episode revealed several Audio-Animatronics figures from the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
“How Happy Happens” follows in the footsteps of previous cast-focused video series from Disney. “Every Role a Starring Role” clocked over 100 episodes of three-minute profiles of cast members at Disneyland Resort across 2010-2020.
“One Day at Disney” showcased cast members and employees across the entire Walt Disney Company, encompassing not only theme parks, but also film, publishing, and television. The multimedia project manifested in 2019 as a coffee table book, an hour-long documentary on Disney+, and a 51-episode Disney+ series of short films.
