Upgrades coming soon to Walt Disney World Resort hotels

There have been many ways to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, including at the more than two dozen hotels that are still undergoing exciting renovations and additions. Some of these upgrades include room and lobby remodels with fresh decor and amenities, new technology and furniture, and even new dining offerings.

Here are some of the upgrades you’ll be able to enjoy real soon at the Disney World hotels.

Disney’s BoardWalk is getting upgrades to its guest rooms, lobby, and dining locations.

Disney’s BoardWalk: Refurbishments include new furnishing, dining enhancements, refreshed guest rooms, and updates to the lobby. The resort will also soon be home to Carousel Coffee, a Northeast-inspired deli and cafe that will serve specialty coffees and pastries, among other offerings.

Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop is expected to open in 2023 at Disney’s BoardWalk.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers: The fairytale-inspired table service restaurant and bakery is set to open in 2023 along Disney’s BoardWalk.

Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort & Spa is getting refreshed guest rooms and common areas to celebrate the hotel’s 35th anniversary on July 1.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: July 1 marks the 35th anniversary of the beloved resort, which means guest rooms are currently undergoing upgrades to freshen up the hotel’s mix of Victorian elegance and storybook charm. The Grand Floridian will also get refurbishments and “fresh new enhancements” in its lobby.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort now sports new modern-retro art and historic photos in the lobby as well as refurbished guest rooms with “Incredibles” theming.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort: The mid-century modern retro resort also got some upgrades recently, including Mary Blair-style art and historic photos from the hotel’s construction in the lobby. Some of the refurbished guest rooms at the Contemporary also have new “Incredibles” characters and theming.

Guest rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort now have patterns and textures inspired by “Moana.”

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: The South Seas-inspired resort’s upgrades include refreshed lobby, dining spots, outdoor spaces, and guest rooms featuring new patterns and textures from “Moana.”

Disney’s All-Star Resorts: All three of these hotels — Movies, Music, and Sports — are finishing up refurbishments to lobbies and guest rooms.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort: Guest rooms in the Trinidad area of the resort now have art and special touches inspired by “The Little Mermaid.”
