Disney World news for 3 major attractions: Frozen, Muppets, & Zootopia

Walt Disney World announced news for three attractions: Frozen Ever After at Epcot, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney World news, announcements October 2025

Disney World announced the news on Oct. 8, 2025.

Opening season for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open in summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Prior to now, the only opening timeframe announced had been “2026.” Now we know the opening season, but still no exact opening date.

Disney also shared new poster artwork for the ride.

There’s no word on when the Aerosmith version of the ride will close. Disney previously said it would remain open for all of 2025. If that timeframe is still in tact, the ride will only be closed for a few months as Disney swaps out Aerosmith for the Muppets.

The Muppet version was first announced earlier this year. See our separate coverage for all the details on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

Frozen Ever After adding new Audio-Animatronics figures

Frozen Ever After will update its Audio-Animatronics figures in early 2026 at Epcot. The boat ride debuted in 2016 with projected faces for Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff. When a new version of the ride opened in 2023 at Hong Kong Disneyland, fully sculpted faces were utilized instead of the projected faces. These versions of the Audio-Animatronics figures are now coming to Epcot.

Disney didn’t mention if Frozen Ever After at Epcot will close to accommodate the installation of the new figures, or an exact debut date for the new figures beyond “early 2026.”

Take a look at our video comparing the differences in the two versions of the Audio-Animatronics figures:

First look at Clawhauser Audio-Animatronics figure

Disney revealed a first look at the Officer Benjamin Clawhauser Audio-Animatronics figure coming to “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom when that attraction officially opens on Nov. 7, 2025.

A version of the Clawhauser figure first debuted at Shanghai Disneyland.

Clawhauser will be one of the few “Zootopia” animatronics (and perhaps the only one) in Animal Kingdom, with the rest of the attraction being a traditional 3D theater show. As a reminder, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” replaces “It’s Tough to be a Bug!,” which permanently closed earlier this year.
