New theme park announced: RetroEscapes, ‘world’s first nostalgia park’ in Las Vegas
RetroEscapes, a new theme park in Las Vegas, plans to transport guests into rides and lands inspired by the 1950s – 1990s.

Updated Oct. 17, 2025 with statement from PGAV Destinations.
Introducing RetroEscapes, Vegas’ new theme park
RetroEscapes in Las Vegas, Nev., is planned to be an outdoor and indoor theme park with rides, restaurants, and shows. At the park entrance, guests would step through a time-travel portal to access themed lands based on American pop culture of different decades from the ’50s to the ’90s, plus a “Tomorrow Zone.”

RetroEscapes comes from Daniel-Leo Jr., influencer and self-proclaimed “CEO of Las Vegas,” and his father, Daniel-Leo Sr. The former announced the project via social media on Sept. 30, 2025.
The proposed park is still in an early development stage, with no construction commenced or opening date announced.
“We’re currently in talks on the land and figuring out the best fit,” Daniel-Leo Jr. said in his social media announcement.

RetroEscapes will be designed by PGAV Destinations, whose previous work includes individual attractions (such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot with Walt Disney Imagineering, Manta at SeaWorld Orlando, and Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay) and full parks (like Aquatica and Discovery Cove in Orlando as well as SeaWorld Abu Dhabi). However, PGAV has not produced any visuals so far. The images in this story were shared by RetroEscapes, not PGAV.
A PGAV spokesperson shared the following with Attractions Magazine on Oct. 16, 2025:
We’re pleased to see the excitement surrounding RetroEscapes and appreciate the recent media coverage the project has received. While PGAV Destinations has been engaged in conversations about the project, our design work has not yet begun, and we have not produced any visuals. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate as the project develops.

Comparison to Pop Century
The concept for RetroEscapes calls to mind Disney’s Pop Century Resort, but as a theme park instead of a hotel. Pop Century’s campus has different buildings and landscaping dedicated to American pop culture of each decade from the ’50s to the ’90s, with themed architecture to match.

RetroEscapes joins Vegas’ attractions boom
RetroEscapes comes at a time when Las Vegas is seeing an increase in themed entertainment and attractions. Universal just opened its first year-round haunt, Universal Horror Unleashed, minutes from the Vegas Strip. Other recently opened attractions in Vegas include the walkthrough “John Wick Experience” and a “SpongeBob SquarePants” indoor ride.

This will flop hard. The average tourist won’t have money left over for this nonsense.
It will never happen. A bunch of AI images I coulld have created in an afternoon. Total joke!
Lots of things get talked about for Las Vegas and never happen. Will only start to believe this when I see actual construction happening. And even that is no guarantee it will be finished if the funding isn’t totally locked down.
Cool idea! However, I don’t believe trying to build something modeled from an AI picture will turn out the same way. Let’s not forget about all the unfinished projects and ones that took decades to finish. Don’t get your hopes up for this one
Sounds great, where do you plan to put it? Just a thought where is the water coming from California 🤔
Itsa cool idea, but like other much hyped concepts across the Midwest I have very little faith of this ever getting off the ground.
Innovation will not happen through AI art. I also know from experience that Vegas does not want a theme park.
Any idea what “area” exactly or close to…this park RetroEscapes may be built? So curious because my cousin lives in Vegas 💟
