“Disney Tales of Magic” will debut Jan. 10, 2025 at Disneyland Paris, as announced Nov. 12, 2024. The new nighttime spectacular marks a first for Disney theme parks, as it will involve fireworks, drones (provided by Dronisos), and projections (developed by NorthHouse) into a single production. Various Disney parks globally have mixed and matched those categories, but have never had all three in the same show presented to the public.

To prep for the show, backstage teams installed 60 new lighting fixtures, a new LED package, and a new audio system.

New for Disneyland Paris, “Disney Tales of Magic” will also implement projection mapping along the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. in addition to the usual projections (and lasers!) on Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The new Disney production will spotlight the following films with its drones, fireworks, and projections:

  • “Pinocchio”
  • “Cinderella”
  • “Beauty and the Beast”
  • “The Lion King”
  • “Toy Story”
  • “Lilo & Stitch”
  • “Wall-E”
  • “Inside Out”
  • “Encanto”

Disney describes the storyline of the new drones/fireworks/projections combo show this way:

This show will celebrate the magic within each of us, evoking universal emotions tied to pursuing dreams, embarking on new adventures with friends, love, memories of loved ones, and the feeling of belonging to a group, a clan, or simply a family. Driven by a powerful, intergenerational story, it will encourage everyone to relive the magical, unforgettable moments that have marked their lives.

Earlier this year, Disney Springs at Walt Disney World in Florida debuted a limited-time show with drones (sans fireworks) called “Disney Dreams That Soar.” Down the road, Universal Studios Florida premiered “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular” with drones and fireworks.
