Efteling will open the new ‘Nest!’ play forest in 2021

Efteling—the fairytale theme park in Holland—will open a new area for its youngest visitors in early summer 2021, an inclusive play forest called “Nest!”

Close to other family rides and attractions, the small forested area has been designed as an inclusive play area to allow children of all abilities to play together. The path that runs through and around the play forest will be accessible for guests in wheelchairs. There will also be various play possibilities for children with visible and invisible disabilities, including a wheelchair slide and raised sandboxes, as well as quiet spots where children can take a break from the excitement in the park.

“Nest!” will also offer a new activity for young visitors to enjoy while older family members experience the bigger rides – and because it will include elements themed to the some of the Efteling roller coasters, young visitors can still get a taste of the bigger attractions that they may be too small to ride.

The new play forest will be constructed among the trees in the Ruigrijk section of the park between De Vliegende Hollander water coaster and the Game Gallery, replacing the existing Polka Marina pirates carousel. Polka Marina will make its final round on Nov. 30, 2020; however, the attraction will still be on display during Winter Efteling.

Construction for the 2 million euro play forest is scheduled to begin Jan. 2021, and “Nest!” will open in summer 2021. Click here for more information.
