Efteling fans can virtually explore the Dutch theme park from home

Efteling has launched a new, free platform that allows fans around the world to virtually visit World of Wonders, the fairytale theme park in the Netherlands. Plus, users can invite their family and friends to experience the park along with them.

Even though the park reopened with enhanced safety measures on May 20, 2020, the new virtual platform makes it possible for those unable to travel to still have the Efteling experience. It also shares a whole new way to experience the park, allowing past guests to relive their favorite memories and offering new guests a chance to see which rides they want to try when they can visit.

Once registered, users can choose up to 12 rides from a collection of on-ride videos of Efteling’s most popular attractions, including the white-knuckle, double-looped Python rollercoaster and the Carnaval Festival dark ride that follows Efteling inhabitants Jokie and Jet on an cultural adventure around the world. The online platform also includes the park’s new family double roller coaster, Max & Moritz, which opened on June 20, 2020, and the impressive “Aquanura” nighttime illuminated water show.

Selected attractions will be played one after another in a personalized virtual chamber where friends and family can “ride together.” They can even chat with each other as they ride. Since some of the attractions are longer than others, each on-ride video differs in length, so the total length of the virtual theme park experience will vary depending on which on-ride videos are chosen. But the good news is, when the videos are over, users can create a whole new experience and “ride” all over again.
