Epcot character set times now in the My Disney Experience app

Another big step for characters and entertainment has happened at Walt Disney World. For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Epcot character set times have returned to the My Disney Experience app. Guests can now know when and where they can meet their favorite Disney princesses in a socially-distant way.

Snow White now has a listed set time for character sightings at Epcot.

Recently, Disney made some strides in bringing back more entertainment to the parks, a big leap over the offerings we have seen for the past year since the parks reopened. Just a week ago, we saw the return of Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater and the Princess Fairytale Hall at the Magic Kingdom. While Disney has offered ways to see princesses at Epcot since the park re-opened, this is a big step towards what we had before.

When Epcot re-opened in 2020, there was a Princess Promenade character cavalcade that showcased many princesses. There was also a promenade cavalcade for Mickey Mouse and characters from the “Frozen” film. This eventually transitioned into sporadic socially-distant character sightings that would happen in the park. But at first, the times were not listed, nor were the exact characters or their locations.

Now, the Epcot character set times allow guests to pinpoint which characters they want to see and when they should go to see them. These character sightings are socially-distant, so no hugging yet. But as Epcot tests queues and specific set times, we are edging closer to more normal meet and greet experiences.

Magic Kingdom currently offers cavalcades (miniature parades) and sightings with Mickey Mouse and princesses at the Princess Fairytale Hall. Disney’s Hollywood Studios currently offers motorcades (miniature parades) as well as random Star Wars character sightings at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers flotillas (miniature parades). All of the cavalcades, motorcades, and flotillas have listed times on the My Disney Experience app.

The Disney Genie service even showcases Epcot character set times.

And, for the first time, we can see these character Sightings show up in Disney Genie. This means the plan-your-day virtual Genie service will now be able to make sure you have time to say hello to a princess. When you pick your top options for “My Interests,” don’t forget to click Disney Princess, Mickey & Friends, Star Wars, or another option. This will make it more likely they’ll show up in your Disney Genie plans.

Disney Genie is a free service that has paid upgrades. Whether or not you wanna pay, the Disney Genie service offers recommendations that are built to maximize your day. The service, which is part of the My Disney Experience app, even changes plans based on downtimes for rides and weather delays.
