Expanded Camp Snoopy at Kings Island includes new kids’ roller coaster
Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio, announced plans to expand to its award-winning Camp Snoopy kids’ area in 2024.
In addition to a new adventure play space called Beagle Scout Acres, the expanded Camp Snoopy will feature Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers – the park’s first family boomerang coaster and 16th roller coaster overall. Construction on the expanded Camp Snoopy will begin this fall.
“Camp Snoopy is just what families visiting Kings Island have been looking for,” said Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island. “We’ve designed this new immersive area to feel like a day at camp where families can spend time with each other in a variety of ways, from the thrill of a new coaster to exploring and relaxing in the great outdoors with their favorite Peanuts characters.”
Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers at Camp Snoopy
With the 2024 debut of Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, Kings Island will become the “Kids Coaster Capital of the World,” with five roller coaster experiences for kids and families.
Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers takes soapbox derby racing to a whole new level as riders board Peanuts-decorated cars and head up a 70-foot hill to the starting line. Once Snoopy waves the checkered flag, racers are launched forward through a track filled with twists and turns as they head to the finish line, but just when they think they’re about to win the race, the train rolls backward through the course in reverse.
Beagle Scout Acres at Camp Snoopy
Kids of all ages can become full-fledged Beagle Scouts at Beagle Scout Acres, the troop’s official headquarters.
Camp Snoopy’s new shaded, nature-themed play area provides opportunities for families to explore and play in grassy areas filled with camping equipment to play on, climb over, and crawl through.
Kids can also participate in hosted “camptivities” throughout the day, led by none other than the Peanuts gang themselves. Eager Beagle Scouts can also earn merit badges for sharing, working together, trying new things, and helping someone in need.

Guests who purchase a pass by Aug. 13, 2023, will receive five single-use Fast Lane rides; existing passholders who renew for next season will receive a free Bring a Friend offer to use this fall.
