Starting July 25, 2025 — the release date for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in theaters — Marvel’s “first family” will appear in Tomorrowland at Disneyland, near the entrance to Space Mountain.

Characters include:

  • Mister Fantastic, aka Reed Richards
  • The Invisible Woman, aka Sue Storm
  • The Thing, aka Ben Grimm
  • The Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm
  • H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot

Of the four human heroes, one character will appear at a time. Guests can consult the Disneyland app on the day of their visit for the “Fantastic Four” characters’ appearance times.

The characters’ appearances will be for a limited run; Disney did not announce an end date.

Additionally, “special projection effects” celebrating the new movie will illuminate the exterior of Space Mountain at Disneyland after dark from July 25 – Sept. 21.

Here are some close-up looks of the “Fantastic Four” characters’ costumes (or, in H.E.R.B.I.E.’s case, accoutrements) at Disneyland.

Marvel’s official synopsis for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” reads:

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

Disneyland is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary. Just last week, the park debuted the first-ever Walt Disney animatronic as part of a biographical presentation called “Walt Disney – A Magical Life.” To celebrate the birthday, we ranked the top 70 of everything in Disneyland.
