‘Flamingo Mingle’ animal experience comes to Discovery Cove

Each morning Discovery Cove’s resident pink flamingos strut into the park to usher in a day spent in tropical splendor, and now guests can become part of their “flamboyance” during the exclusive new “Flamingo Mingle” stroll, feeding, and Q&A opportunity.

Up-close animal encounters are the hallmark of a day spent at Orlando’s Discovery Cove, and the newest addition to these add-ons is the “Flamingo Mingle” early-morning animal encounter, starting with a stroll in the park with the flamingos, followed by a one-on-one shoreside feeding, and the chance to wade with the flock in their cool reef waters.

The park’s expert aviculturists are on hand to answer questions and impart fascinating flamingo facts, and a professional photographer will capture all the memories (photos are an additional fee). The entire experience takes up to 1 hour, with 30 minutes spent interacting with the flamingos. Wetsuits are provided as part of your Discovery Cove all-inclusive day.

End the encounter with a final mingle with the flamingos, then enjoy all the tropical oasis has to offer, in a beautifully-landscaped outdoor setting with enhanced health and safety protocols in place. Swim with dolphins in Dolphin Lagoon, snorkel with rays and fishes in The Grand Reef, and hand-feed exotic birds in the Explorer’s Aviary. Then, unwind with a swim, float, or snorkel in the warm currents of Wind-Away River.

Breakfast, lunch, and all-you-care-to-eat snacks and drinks (including beer and wine for ages 21+), plus parking, lockers, and swim gear are included in your resort day. The park’s Book with Confidence policy ensures maximum flexibility for rebooking without penalties or fees, and free cancellations 30 days prior to reservation date.

The limited-capacity “Flamingo Mingle” opportunity accommodates groups of no more than eight guests each time, and physical distancing is strictly enforced. Ages 6-12 must be accompanied by a paying, participating adult (minimum age for participants is 6 years old).

Flamingo Mingle takes place at 8 a.m. on select dates, and must be booked in advance. The add-on starts at $59 per person, and park admission is also required.
