‘Fraggle Rock’ meets NASA: New live show debuts at Kennedy Space Center
A “Fraggle Rock” space show is coming to Florida as Gobo, Red, and Uncle Traveling Matt explore NASA’s Artemis missions live at Kennedy Space Center.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is about to get a whole lot more musical and magical. The Visitor Complex and The Jim Henson Company have officially announced “Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure,” an original live stage show set to debut on Dec. 22, 2025. This first-of-its-kind collaboration will bring the Emmy Award-winning Fraggles face-to-face with NASA’s real-life space explorers for an adventure of discovery.
A space-y quest for the Fraggles
Following a mysterious postcard, Gobo, Red, and Uncle Travelling Matt (making his live stage debut) venture from their magical caves to Florida’s Space Coast. They arrive at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where they meet a member of the Exploration Ground Systems crew, who is essential to every NASA mission.
Together, they embark on a musical and comedic quest to learn about NASA’s Artemis missions and humanity’s next giant leap to the Moon. According to the Kennedy Space Center, the adventure is so authentic that it even includes a live conversation with a real astronaut aboard the International Space Station.
“Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure” is written, choreographed, and directed by John Tartaglia (“Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock”). The production is produced and designed by The Producers Group in association with The Jim Henson Company and in partnership with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
Celebrating curiosity and teamwork

“‘Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure’ celebrates the joy of discovery and the spirit of curiosity that has always defined the NASA story we share here at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex,” said Therrin Protze, COO of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. “We’re honored to partner with The Jim Henson Company, known for its innovation, imagination, and storytelling for young audiences and families to create a show that will inspire dreamers of all ages to look up, explore, and picture their own place among the stars.”
John Tartaglia, who serves as the show’s director, writer, choreographer, and The Jim Henson Company’s Creative Supervisor for “Fraggle Rock,” highlighted the show’s theme of collaboration:
Families are in for a real treat when the magic and wonder of “Fraggle Rock” arrives at the legendary Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Fans of all ages will be able to see Uncle Travelling Matt, Red, Gobo, and Cotterpin Doozer live and in person. “Fraggle Rock” has always embraced the idea that anything is possible when we work together and celebrate our interconnected world, and NASA is such an incredible example of that idea. With our Fraggles and Doozers meeting new friends from NASA, there will be music, comedy, and so much to explore!
The production will feature full-body costumed “walk-around” versions of the Fraggles and puppet versions of the Doozers, all crafted by the award-winning Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The blend of Henson’s timeless artistry with the awe-inspiring science of space exploration promises a unique experience that will teach audiences, big and small, that everyone can make a difference in the universe.
‘Fraggle Rock’ space show: Showtimes and special events
“Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure” is included with admission to the Kennedy Space Center and will be performed twice daily at 12:30 & 1:45 p.m. in the Universe Theater.
