Fright Fest 30th anniversary features ‘Saw’ and ‘The Conjuring’

Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif., will celebrate the Fright Fest 30th anniversary with 30 nights of fright on select dates from Sept. 8 through Oct. 31, 2023.

This year’s milestone event will feature the return of fan-favorite haunted houses (plus two new ones) and the expansion of one of the park’s most popular scare zones. For an extra dose of terror, guests can face their fears in total darkness when the park’s monster coasters turn off the lights.

Fright Fest 30th Anniversary Highlights

  • Saw X –  Inspired by the upcoming release “Saw X,” this haunted house will mark the return of Jigsaw as guests attempt to survive the terrifying traps in his most personal game yet.
  • The Conjuring – Inspired by the film “The Conjuring,” guests must enter the Perron family’s secluded farmhouse, which has been plagued by sinister spirits
  • Condemned House Party – Beware the souls of Sigma Phi Mu Mu trapped for eternity in their dilapidated frat house who are back from the fan-favorite Scream Break event.
  • City Under Siege – In the expansion of the park’s most popular scare zones, clowns are running rampant through the streets of DC Universe

Returning Haunted Houses and Mazes:

  • Aftermath 2: Chaos Rising – The region’s largest outdoor maze (more than 40,000 square feet) features larger-than-life props, fire, fog, and other special effects as spirits of the dead (and near-dead) inhabit a post-apocalyptic city.
  • Truth or Dare – A warped game of Truth or Dare featuring a new array of never-before-done scares and effects
  • Willoughby’s Resurrected – Evil spirits roam the once-affluent Willoughby Family mansion

  • Sewer of Souls – An underground world of terrifying tunnels filled with lost souls
  • Vault 666 Unlocked – Demonic relics locked in a dark and sinister antique shop will haunt those who try to steal them

Devil’s Triangle – The darkest depths of the ocean are haunted by souls lost to the Devil’s Triangle, who prey on guests as they enter the park

Fright Fest 30th Anniversary “Monstertainment”

  • Unleashed in City Under Siege (7 p.m. nightly)
  • Sliders of the Night in City Under Siege
  • Spirits with Spirits at the Full Throttle Sports Bar
  • Invasion at the Full Throttle Stage with live DJs, interactive games, and a colony of extraterrestrial creatures

Kids Boo Fest

During daytime hours on Fridays through Sundays during Fright Fest, the family-friendly Boo Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain includes the following:

  • A trick-or-treat trail in Bugs Bunny World to collect sweet treats and meet friendly characters along the way
  • Two new spooktacular kid-sized mazes
  • A spooky ride aboard the Whistlestop train decked out with seasonal décor
