Gatorland Gatorpalooza Fun Fest

Gatorland, the “Alligator Capital of the World” in Orlando, will once again host Gatorpalooza after a year’s hiatus due to the pandemic, and there are few events more down-home and entertaining than this. From the Turkey Dog Toss Contest, where participants throw turkey hot dogs to Gatorland personalities sitting in boats in the breeding marsh, to live bands, artisan stalls, specialty foods, and family-friendly games and contests, it’s a fun fest like no other.

The event began as a celebration of Gatorland’s 70th birthday in 2019, and this year’s fun fest returns for the second time as a welcome Old Florida addition to Orlando’s 2021 lineup.

The Gatorland Vlog Team will make appearances throughout the weekend, while headliner attractions, including the Gator Jumparoo Show and Alligators: Legends of the Swamp, show off the park’s residents in the most thrilling and — say it quietly — educational style.

Mark McHugh, president and CEO of Gatorland, is eager to welcome visitors back. “We are so excited that we can make Gatorpalooza happen this year for our guests to enjoy. We are ready to roll out the fun and excitement the Gatorland way during this special weekend event.”

Visit the park on May 15, when the Gator Man Challenge contest swings into action. Head over on May 16 and take part in The Turkey Dog Toss Contest. All weekend long, the park’s awesome animals and hundreds of alligators and crocodiles, the water-play fun of Gator Gully Splash Park, plus the additionally-priced Screamin’ Gator Zip Line and Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure, will add to the wild and wacky atmosphere.

Gatorpalooza runs from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on May 15-16, and it’s free with park admission. Throughout the month of May, Florida residents with valid Florida I.D. get half-off admissions, bringing the ticket cost to just $14.99 per adult.
