Grand Floridian lobby debuts new carpet, bar construction continues
The Grand Floridian lobby at Walt Disney World revealed a new carpet design as construction continues for the resort’s upcoming lobby bar.

The new carpet is part of an ongoing refresh of the entire lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa near Orlando, Fla. The previous carpet design, seen below in 2024, followed an emerald-green-and-gold color scheme with splashes of pink and light blue.

The new carpet design, seen below, is more reliant on turquoise, dark green, and light brown, still with flourishes of pink and light blue.

Whereas the previous carpet followed a pastel aesthetic, the new design is more lush and saturated. The new carpet extends to the Grand Floridian lobby stairs.

Nearby, construction continues on the Grand Floridian lobby bar. Disney has not announced an opening date or name for this venue.

Here’s concept art of what the lobby is intended to look like once the project is complete. Note the pianist will return.

The Grand Floridian lobby is one of many ongoing construction projects at Disney World. Others include the demolition of Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom to build “Cars” rides, clearing trees to prep for Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, site work prep for a “Monsters, Inc.” roller coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the demolition of DinoLand, U.S.A., to build an “Encanto” ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
