Hatbox Ghost is coming to Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion
The announcement of the Hatbox Ghost’s impending arrival at Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion was made today, September 11, 2022, during the D23 Expo panel, “A Boundless Future: Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products.”

The creepy character – who haunted the attic with his evil grin and ability to appear and disappear – was part of the attraction in California’s Disneyland park when it opened in 1969, but due to issues with breakdowns, the macabre menace’s time there was limited.

He returned in a more workable form in 2015, a welcome addition for his devoted fan following, and now he is all set to materialize in the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products announced to cheering expo attendees.
Fans can expect the apparition to appear at some point in 2023.

We thank the new addition to the haunted mansion is going to b pretty cool that is our favorite attraction n the magic kingdom and we love the other ones too but that one is our favorite
It was not removed due to breakdowns in the 60’s the effect of the head appearing and disappearing wasn’t effective and therefore it was removed within days of opening. It wasn’t reattempted until there was better technology to create it.
