“Hello, I’m Dolly,” an autobiographical Broadway musical about the life of Dolly Parton, will premiere on stage in 2026.

Parton announced the news on June 6, 2024 at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tenn.
“Hello, I’m Dolly, and I lived my whole life to see this show on stage,” Parton said. “I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it, as well. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp. It truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended. Don’t miss it!”
Beyond her true-life story being the focus of the show, Parton is heavily involved in the creative process for “Hello, I’m Dolly.” She serves as the production’s songwriter, score composer, scriptwriter, and producer. Parton won’t be in the show’s cast.

Joining Parton in writing the script/book is Maria S. Schlatter. The two previously wrote the 2020 film “Christmas on the Square” together, which Parton starred in and both of them executive-produced. In addition to Parton, the “Hello, I’m Dolly” producing team includes Adam Speers of the live-theater production company ATG Productions and Danny Nozell from the talent management company CTK Enterprises.
The show is named after Parton’s first studio album, which debuted in 1967. Ticket sales for “Hello, I’m Dolly” are not yet available (and the show hasn’t announced a specific premiere date other than “2026”), but fans can sign up for news on the production’s website.
