Ya-hoo! “Hoop-Dee-Doo” Celebrates 50 Years

The “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” 50th anniversary merchandise collection is now available. You can find it inside Settlement Trading Post, a gift shop onsite at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the same property as where the dinner show is hosted near Orlando, Fla.

The merch includes a tumbler ($28), Christmas tree ornament ($23), and die-cut magnet ($15) featuring the six fictional stars of “Hoop-Dee-Doo” imagined as cartoons: Jim Handy, Flora Long, Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, and Six-Bits Slocum. An additional magnet (also $15) depicts Pioneer Hall, the performance venue of the show.

“Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” opened Sept. 4, 1974, according to D23. It is currently Disney World’s only dinner show, having outlived the closures in recent years of Mickey’s Backyard BBQ (at Fort Wilderness) and Spirit of Aloha at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

  1. I know the space from the luau at the Polynesian has been repurposed so I assume that is not coming back…
Is there any chance the Backyard BBQ will be reopened in the near future?
