A brand-new rooftop lounge restaurant, illume, is bringing Asian flare to Central Florida atop the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa.
With a footprint of 5,200-square-feet and 150 seats, illume offers a modern Asian-inspired menu and handcrafted cocktails set against a backdrop of nightly Disney fireworks and the surrounding Bonnet Creek Preserve.
“We’re excited for illume guests to experience Chef Myra Buerkle’s innovative takes on Asian-style tapas and sushi,” said Daniel Schmidt, director of F&B. “The rooftop lounge’s creative food offerings, paired with its dynamic wine, whiskey and sake program and 360-degree views, will make every experience at illume one to remember.”
Every aspect of the venue was designed to amplify the space’s panoramic views, from the glass walls on the terrace to an indoor-outdoor seating area. There’s even a sushi bar where guests can watch menu items come to life. A wraparound central bar and in-wall fireplaces only further enhance the ambiance. The interiors of illume also feature Seminole American Indian artifacts on the walls to honor the area’s history.
“With a chic ambiance, inventive menu and the best views of the Disney fireworks in all of Orlando, illume brings an exciting new dining concept to the city’s food scene, and will quickly become the go-to spot for date nights, evenings out on the town and celebratory events for locals and JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek guests alike,” said Sam Basu, general manager of JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek.
illume is located at JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa, which opened in July of 2020. Located just outside the gates of Walt Disney World, the resort offers a 10,000-square-foot spa, an outdoor pool, seven onsite restaurants and bars, a rooftop miniature golf course and rock-climbing wall, and complimentary shuttle service to the theme parks.
