The first ever JoJo’s ShakeBAR opened in Chicago on Feb. 28, 2019, and only four years later, the young restaurant chain has four locations in the Chicago area, one in Detroit, Mich., the new Orlando location opening this month, and another coming to Scottsdale, Ariz, in the future.

The new Florida location in the heart of Orlando’s tourist and convention district at Pointe Orlando will celebrate its grand opening weekend on March 18 and19, 2023.

JoJo ShakeBAR functions as a next-generation restaurant and bar, with a focus on serving 80s and 90s nostalgia, diner fare, hand-crafted cocktails, decadent desserts, and over-the-top “Biggie Shakes.”

“We take our work seriously but hope our guests don’t take us seriously,” said JoJo’s ShakeBAR Founder Robbie Schloss. “JoJo’s is about forgetting life’s stresses and enjoying good vibes in good company. Guests should indulge and enjoy a cheat meal and a boozy shake. JoJo’s is no place for a diet.”

While one would not doubt Schloss’ comments about cheat meals, this place sells salads, gluten-free, and vegan options.

JoJo’s (named after Schloss’ daughter) focuses on creative desserts and elevated diner favorites, offering a modern yet familiar diner experience grounded in nostalgia for the 80s and 90s, with vintage tongue-in-cheek details and nods to Central Florida’s iconic attractions, famous faces, and world-class hospitality with a custom mural on an entire wall of the restaurant.

Guests might dine under JoJo’s signature glittering disco ball as bright pink neon clouds ‘drip’ from the ceiling, or they could sit at the Pastry Bar and enjoy a swing-out stool while watching JoJo’s chocolatiers dip gourmet treats. Guests can also stop by the walk-up window for treats on the go.

In addition, JoJo’s offers specialty cocktails, a very pointed whiskey selection, and rotating seasonal beers. Spirits may be added to all shakes and hot chocolates, including Bacardi rum, Jameson Irish whiskey, and Kahlúa coffee liqueur.

JoJo’s ShakeBAR continues a recent trend of Illinois-based restaurants spreading the love to Central Florida, including the popular Portillo’s, which opened in the Orlando area in June 2021.

JoJo’s new location opens seven days a week at 11:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. JoJo’s also offers a weekend brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Both interior and patio seating are available on the lower level of Pointe Orlando, and reservations can be booked via OpenTable.
