Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is now open at Epcot

Today marks the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company and the official opening of Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in Epcot at Walt Disney World.

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana

Starting today, guests can explore a walking trail filled with splashy surprises as they engage with water, just like Moana did in the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Moana.”

Journey of Water Interactive Experiences

The walk-through attraction provides playful opportunities to interact with – and learn about – the water that gives life to the world, from making music with “rain harps” to creating a roaring ocean wave.

As they make their way along the trail, guests will encounter Te Fiti, who protects the water as it travels through the water cycle. Guests may also discover characters from the movie carved in the rock formations, including Heihei, Pua, and, of course, Moana.

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana

Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is available via Virtual Queue. Epcot guests may join throughout the day starting at 9 a.m., using the My Disney Experience app. Guests must be in Epcot to join the virtual queue. Each Guest can only request to enter the virtual queue once daily during regular park hours. Click here for details.

Epcot guests can also meet Moana in a new area across from Journey of Water.

Upcoming Epcot additions include a new Walt Disney statue called “Walt the Dreamer” at Dreamers Point and the World Celebration gardens.

Through Dec. 31, 2023, guests can expect special centennial activations, tie-ins, and moments to highlight the company’s first 100 years, including Mickey and Minnie in platinum attire greeting guests in the Imagination! Pavilion and Spaceship Earth illuminated each night with a colorful display accompanied by the Disney100 anthem.
